FAREWELL

Sophia Akel, who served as our Law Clerk from 2022-2023, has taken a position as Research Assistant to the Dean of the Florida State College of Law. She will be missed very much, but we look forward to seeing the great things she will accomplish after graduation in December.

PJ Osborne, our Legal Assistant/Paralegal/Dog Mom/Herder of Cats, is out for an extended leave of absence. We wish her well, and look forward to her return. That will be a party day for sure, with lots of sweets and highly caffeinated coffee!

Welcome and Farewell

WELCOME:

We are pleased to welcome Allison McDonough and Chloe Breed to the firm. Allison is a 2L at Florida State College of Law and will be with us through the Fall term as a Law Clerk. She brings a great aptitude for financials and issue-spotting to the Family Law Division. She interned Summer semester with us and brought so much value to her time that we asked her to stay on with us.

Chloe is an undergraduate student who is also a competitive equestrian. She is working with us part-time during her undergraduate years as a receptionist and general office helper.

FAREWELL:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement of Jan Rogers. Jan has been a friend, co-worker and mentor to all of us. at the end of 2019, Jan announced that she was retiring (for the second time) at the end of 2020; unfortunately for all of us, her plans were accelerated by the pandemic. She is loved and missed by all of us, as well as many of our clients and vendors. Her stories and treasure trove of legal knowledge will not be replaced.

WE ARE MOVING TO NEW OFFICES!

We are pleased to announce that we have leased new space on the edge of Downtown. Our new suite of offices is located at 487 E. Tennessee Street, Suite 1, Tallahassee, FL 32301. The building is located on the corner of Meridian and Tennessee Streets, next door to the Backwoods Bistro, and across the street from Leon High School. Despite its proximity to downtown, the new suite has plenty of onsite parking, and is fully ADA accessible.

In addition to providing much more spacious offices for our team, we are proud to note that we have full mediation and deposition facilities. Three conference rooms and a flex office allow us to not only host meetings and mediations for our clients, but to provide space for other attorneys and mediators to work when they need temporary or daily accommodations.

It is our plan to have an open house when all the boxes are broken down and the office looks normal again. Watch this space for details!

Happy Holidays from us to you!

We are very thankful for all of the donations that local and long distance friends have been bringing to the office. Through the William Stafford Inns of Court and other people and organizations, we are collecting and delivering truckloads of nonperishable food, clothing, blankets and necessities to victims of Hurricane Michael. Through our friends at Habitat 4 Horses, we are assisting with equine needs in the Panhandle as well.

If you’d like to contribute, please give us a call and we can either pick up your donations or find someone to do so. Of course, if you’d like to just bring donations by, we’re happy to have them. We’re here 9-5 Mon-Thurs and 9-12 on Fridays.
